Removal and installation of a starter

The electric motor called by a starter is necessary for start of the internal combustion engine. That the engine of the car started working, it needs to be untwisted to speed not less than 300 rpm. It is possible to reach it if the starter reliably works and the rechargeable battery is charged.

As start of the engine requires big electricity consumption, when carrying out maintenance it is necessary to pay attention to reliable connection of cables. The contacts having a rust need to be smoothed out and greased with jellied lubricant.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the rechargeable battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Rechargeable Battery.

  1. Remove the lower cover of the engine forward, address the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Diesel engine: Remove the lower cover of the engine back, address the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  1. Disconnect a wire of the B+ (2) plug from a starter.
  1. Disunite the socket of the plug 50 (1).
  2. If necessary, remove the insulator on a positive conclusion of a starter.
  3. Disconnect a collar (4) cables.
  4. Petrol engine: Disconnect the holder (3).
  1. Turn out bolts (1) and (2) and take out a starter forward.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix a starter by the moment 45 Nanometers (M10 screw) or 65 Nanometers (M12 screw) at the check point.
  2. Fix the B+ plug wire by the moment of 16 Nanometers on a starter.
  3. Further installation is carried out in the sequence, the return to removal.

Removal

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative cable (-) of the rechargeable battery.

Observe indications of the Section Replacement of the Rechargeable Battery.

  1. Remove the lower cover of the engine forward, address the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  2. Diesel engine: Remove the lower cover of the engine back, address the Section Removal and installation of the top cover of the engine / the lower protection of a motive compartment / stretcher.
  3. Remove the generator, address the Section Removal and installation of the generator.

The instruction on security measures

Lifting operation and installations of the car on supports is connected with danger! Therefore before carrying out operation study Poddomkrachivaniye's Section and towage.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Weaken bolts of fastening of a wheel. Lift and install the car on supports and remove the right forward wheel.
  1. Turn out bolts (arrows on an accompanying illustration) and disconnect the heat-shielding screen of a power shaft.
  1. Disconnect a wire for the B+ (2) plug from a starter).
  1. Disunite the socket of the plug 50 (1).
  2. Remove the heat-shielding screen (3) traction relays.
  3. Turn out bolts (shooters) and remove a starter.

Installation

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Fix a starter by the moment of 45 Nanometers at the check point.
  2. Fix the B+ plug wire by the moment of 16 Nanometers on a starter.
  3. Fix by bolts the heat-shielding screen of a power shaft the moment of 23 Nanometers.
  4. Further installation is carried out in the sequence, the return to removal.
