6-and 8-cylinder petrol engines

Main data

L DOHC 2.4, 3.0, 4.2 engines - V-shaped, with a corner of an arrangement of cylinders 90 °, respectively on 3 and 4 cylinders in a row. Such engines are designated by V6 and V8.

Engines have three inlet and two final valves on the cylinder. Each number of cylinders of the engine has 2 camshafts. At the V6 engine camshafts of final valves are set in motion by a gear belt, camshafts of inlet valves are set in motion by a chain from camshafts of final valves. At the V8 engine four camshafts, also as well as auxiliary units, are set in motion by several chains. Driving chains are located from a flywheel (side of the check point).

Block of cylinders, crankshaft and flywheel of the V6 engine

1 — the Bent shaft
Check of an axial side play:
New: 0.07 - 0.23 mm
Wear limit: 0.25 mm
Check of a radial gap by means of Plastigage: 0.018 - 0.045 mm
Wear limit: 0.10 mm
Attention: When checking a radial gap do not rotate a bent shaft.
2 — the Cover of the radical bearing 4 with dredging for a persistent washer
3 — the Bolt. Replace, 60 Nanometers +90 °. For measurement of a radial gap tighten a bolt by effort no more than 60 Nanometers
4 — the Persistent washer of the radical bearing 4
5 — the Flywheel / the Driving disk

6 — a flywheel Bolt / a driving disk. Replace, (a flywheel of 60 Nanometers +180 °), (a driving disk 60 of Nanometer +90 °). At an otdavaniye use the tool 3242 for blocking of a bent shaft
7 — Inserts of radical bearings. Do not mix the removed inserts
8 — the Tight flange with an epiploon. It is replaced assembled. Before removal merge cooling liquid
9 — Laying. Replace
10 — the Bolt, 10 Nanometers
11 — the Persistent washer of the block of cylinders, the bearing 4
12 — the Bolt, 25 Nanometers. Previously tighten by hand before tightening bolts of a cover of the radical bearing

Beating, no more: 0.01 mm
Wear limit: 0.10 mm
5 — the Cap. Replace. For removal uncover the bearing. At the napressuyta established to a bearing cover by means of the tool 3202 and the plastic hammer
6 — Covers of bearings of the camshaft of inlet valves
7 — the Camshaft of final valves
8 — the camshaft Regulator. Before removal block 3366 natyazhitel of a chain by means of a clamp. Check adjustment of the camshaft
9 — the Driving chain. Before removal mark the direction of the movement
10 — the Bolt, 10 Nanometers

12 — the Valve 1 or 2 for adjustment of the N205 or N208 camshaft. Check adjustment of the camshaft
